Since it costs under $1500 to go to the redwoods for a week, from coast to coast, odds are you could go this year or next, if you want to get there before you die.

That show "EXPLORER: Climbing Redwood Giants" just got posted online a week ago, on Youtube. Just embedded it on my own redwoods page too. I've watched it several times. They all did a fine bit of work on it.

Cheers, MDV

Ive been doing tree work in my area for over 20 years, I have dealt with many arborists on many issues reguarding permits. Over all I have to say that if you know your local arborist where you are working and they know who you are doing tree work in thier area and you do good tree work after a couple of times meeting them they will respect your decision on what work needs to be done as long as local arbor laws are followed.
In some areas you are required to obtain a license with that city to be able to even do tree work inside the city limits and if you are caught doing work in thier city with out a license from them it is a $250.00 fine (to the person/people doing the work) and they shut the job down and also make sure no arbor laws have been broken. If so fines are put in place and in some cases I have heard of people going to jail.
